Expectant Prayers ®

About 16 years ago when my husband and I were about to marry, my father in law gave me a book called "The Blessing" by Gary Smalley and John Trent.  It was a book that opened up a new revelation in the Spirit for me and I have been a huge advocate of blessings ever since.   Our entire family has taken to "blessing" one another frequently and I have even written some blessings for particular events (like a birthday blessing) and a special one for when each of the kids when they were born called "Our Blessing".   I had a lot of requests over the years for "Our Blessing" and have probably made well over a hundred in the past 10 years; reproduced and then personalized for that particular child. 

There have been many occasions where I have blessed my children, my husband, family, children I've ministered to, and friends.  Every time I am given an opportunity to bless someone or someone has spoken a blessing over me, it's been significant and powerful!  Mind you, we are not accustomed to this tradition and when you do it for the first time... well, it may seem a bit strange.    But, keep it up and it will get easier and more familiar!

Most of us desire to see our friends and loved ones succeed in life and what better way to express that feeling than with a blessing!  Think about all the blessings that occurred in the Bible from fathers to sons, or contained in passages such as the account of Jabez (which was made into a popular book called "The Prayer of Jabez")   Our blessing someone sets off events in the heavenly realm that we cannot explain.  Even Jesus blessed others!
