Hitting the Road

We're off in a few hours to our St. Louis destination.  I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed weekend and for many of you out there... have a wonderful Mother/Daughter Banquet.

I had to tell all of you what Zeke did.  I couldn't believe it and it may make for some interesting conversations this weekend.  On Wednesday night after church (after everyone was supposed to be in bed) Zeke decided to give himself a haircut with school scissors.  Not a good thing.    When I saw him, I realized that he had lopped off sections too large to be "blended in".  The only recourse was for Pete to get out the trimmers and shave him with about 1 cm of hair remaining.   Baldy-Waldy!  He looks..well, you can probably imagine.  And just in time to meet lots of new people this weekend!
I had to go to the store yesterday and Zeke went with me.  He wore a hoodie with his hood up (because it was raining out).  He liked to tell people, "See my bald head?"  at which point he would yank off the hood.  The amazement on people's faces was priceless. The people who know us were really shocked because he looks so different without his golden spiked hairdo.  Of course, Daddy told him it was a haircut like Police Officers have, so it's now the "Police Haircut".    I think he's learned his lesson... I hope.  He seems to really like it...and that worries me a little.  After his bath last night he was so pleased that he didn't have to have his hair combed.  He said, "Mom, you don't have to comb my bald head." with a silly grin on his face.

The good news is that it will grow back.

Of course, now he can really say he looks like both of his Grandpas.    As Grandma Rule says, "You just have to have a sense of humor about these things!"

Here are the before and after.  The "before" is from Easter and I just snapped the "after".

Have a great and blessed weekend!
