Expectant Prayers ®

Titus and the Magnifying Glass

Anything that's put under a microscope doesn't look that great!  Thus the case with many things in our lives, especially people.  God asks us to focus on Him... magnify Him in our lives... and then everything else we look at will seem to be put in the proper perspective.

We are all human and imperfect.  We will make mistakes.  From parenting to friendship, from responsibilities to work, and everywhere in between... at some point we will mess up.  I have been there- hey, I might be there today!  It's especially poignant when I have looked back in retrospect and the epiphany strikes.  I slap my forehead in disbelief  (In "I should have had a V-8" fashion) and declare, "What in the world was I thinkin'?"

We tend to view things from the grid of our own character.  That's why we need to have a good washing in the Word and time spent in prayer daily.   Our minds and hearts need a transformation in Him to see things clearly.  We are blind, but when we "put on our spiritual glasses" and walk by His Spirit, He allows us to see.

I don't believe in being perfect, nor do I expect those around me to be perfect.  I feel bad for those who live to be perfect- what a load to be carrying around!  I will say that I believe in being "perfected' in Christ.  The Word tells us in our weakness, He is strong.  The Word also says that we can do all things through HIM who gives us the strength.   My goal in life is not to be perfect- it never has been, but rather to be prayerful concerning all things.  I rely on God daily for wisdom, strength, and guidance.  I stand before Him humbly and thankfully accepting of His mercy and grace.

Everything is equal at the foot of the cross.  In God's eyes, we are all His children and sin is sin, not ranked on a scale of varying severity  (of course, we all know there are 7 things God hates). We all stand before Him sinners in need of a Savior.

Let us bear with one another... not looking to one another to be perfect or placed on pedestals.  Let's try to encourage one another and live at peace with each other as best we can.  After all, we are all in this race together.
