Wash Dem Taters!

We've been so busy lately, but I had to stop and share this with you today.  It'll make you laugh.

We had a family dinner last night for about 35-40 people to celebrate the holiday.  It was held at a local church's fellowship hall in Overland Park.  It was so much fun.  The church also had a gymnasium where the kids could play while the adults sat around talking.  The dinner was pot luck.   Several of us agreed to bring specific items off of a more organized list to make sure that all the necessities were covered.    I took two crock pots of vegetables and my mother-in-law decided to make all of the baked potatoes.  After many years of baking potatoes for Speed the Light dinners, her potato baking has become a well oiled machine!

As she began to think about baking the potatoes for the dinner, she decided that the worst part about having to bake them was the cleaning.  All the scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing didn't sound like too much fun.  So... she decided to come up with a new plan.   They say necessity is the mother of invention.  What do you suppose she did????

This is what she did:

She stopped the dishwasher after the first cycle and then set it to dry to dry them off.  She says to be cautious, however, if you try this at home not to let the washer go too long because you don't want your potatoes rinsed with Jet Dry!

Those taters were squeaky clean!

It also reminded me of Tim the Tool Man  (on Home Improvement)  who tried to bake the fish in the dishwasher.  Remember that episode?

I get tickled to see some of the makeshift solutions that people come up with for things.   I guess it comes naturally to creative people.   If nothing else, it's always entertaining!

Blessings and have a good day!
