Police Helicopter Visit

Since the boys were feeling better, my husband decided to take them on a short field trip to see the Police Helicopter a few days ago.  Pete told them he would take them to see it and then Zeke kept bugging Pete to death until he was able to schedule them to go. That's one perk of having a husband that works in emergency services... the kids get to see real police cars, fire engines, police motorcycles, K-9's, helicopters, etc.   What more could a boy want???

They not only let them see the helicopter, but they also put on a little show for them.  It was really neat and they boys really enjoyed it.    Then the officers flew off for their nightly duties!

Local police and fire often entertain Boy Scout or Ranger Troops either on site or at local schools.  I know several of our officers, including my husband have spoken at church events. Pete's even had some of our Rangers in the jail for a field trip.  It's just another way to connect young people with community services.  You may be surprised how many Boy Scouts or Rangers end up serving locally or in the military!

"I've told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from the Father."  John 15:13 (The Message)
