Lessons About Christianity

1 Peter 3:15 (Contemporary English Version)

"Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life.

Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope."

Over the past few months, I have received requests to share the story of Jesus on my blog or at the very least, the way to salvation so that it could be shared with family or friends of those who read my blog. Even though we live in a nation that is immersed in "religion", I am still amazed how many people don't have a clear understanding of Christianity.  That goes for many who even attend church!
I have spent a lot of time in prayer about it, asking myself what would be the best way to approach it and cover all the bases in a compact way.   When it comes down to accepting Christ into your heart,  it's as easy as A-B-C.

A- Admit you are a sinner.
B- Believe that Jesus died for your sins.
C- Confess your sins to God.

Realistically, I realize that becoming "saved" isn't the problem, it's people realizing that they are in need of a Savior to begin with.  With so many voices in the world today, why do we NEED Jesus?  Aren't all religions the same?   What makes the God of the Bible different from other gods?

Then today, while I was tooling around on looking for Scripture verses on Bible Gateway , I came across a wonderful site that gives the who, what, where, why, when of Christianity and ultimately, salvation.

If you visit the site, there is a place where you can forward the site to a friend.  I do not have a direct link to the site because there wasn't one available, but I can tell you where it is.   Copy and paste:  www.thehopeproject.com to your browser.  There is an introduction, 12 short lessons, and then a personal invitation at the end.   I thought it was excellent.

Please, if you have time, visit it today.  It's worth a look.  If bringing others to Christ is one of your goals for 2008, this site can be a very valuable resource.
If you are reading this and you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, let me encourage you today to step out and consider watching the messages found on the site.

Let 2008 be a year where you found a reason to HOPE!
