Lead Me to the Rock...

Photobucket

I was hoping to get in a post today about some thoughts concerning the topic over at AHOOSIERFAMILY, but I was preempted with life.  Music came pouring in for next weekend's wedding and I began rehearsal on my 5 pieces...still awaiting one.  Yes, you heard me right... six new pieces- two in Latin- all which have to be learned in a mere week.  Nothing like having to pull the rabbit out of the hat at the last minute!   Happily, I just love Sacred music and enjoy the practicing.  Unfortunately, my voice is a bit out of training at the moment so I have to take it easy.  But so far, I think I have the 5 pretty under control.   Not bad for a few hour's work.   I can only pray now that I'll be able to pull it off on the Wedding day!!!

Also, the kids came back from camp today all full of stories and are still waiting (as I write this) to fill me in on more of the details.  They had a blast.

Since we were down to just four of the kids yesterday, we decided to go out to the Kansas City Zoo.  It's not that far away from our house!  We get a family pass every year and try to go as much as we can.

This year the theme is "Year of the Frog".  OK I guess, that is if you like frogs.   I took these shots because I knew my sister would love these little fellows (or at least their beautiful blue color)...

Too bad they're poison dart frogs!

And if you like Meerkats, here's a great shot!  Shad liked them, too.  If you look close (toward the bottom half of the photo), you can see his reflection as he is looking at the Meerkat.  Neat bonus!

Finally, I took this remarkable shot at the climbing tree outside of Discovery Barn.   It looks like Titus is standing on the rock with his hands raised.  It just seemed to speak to my spirit....

"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
Psalm 61:2

Now look at the photo sideways... I thought the middle of the rock looked like the CROSS... and there's Titus at the foot of the cross.  It just stirred me!

May He lead us all to the ROCK!

"The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."  Psalm 18:2
