Expectant Prayers ®

Friday - Feels Like the Flu

It's good to see that whatever was setting off the alarms on my journal has been fixed.  Thanks to all of you who sent me emails letting me know that you could/couldn't see my blog.   I appreciate it!  I'm just happy to know it's been taken care of!

Thanks also for the well wishes and prayers for my family.  I know you'd bring us chicken soup if you could.  We are still suffering from the effects of the flu.  Several of the kids are still sick, others are just starting to get down, and truthfully, I am still down too.   This has been a classic case; the kind that lasts a week to ten days and ends with a cold.  That's where I am at... the coughing, the wheezing.   Ick!

There is one thing that I have come to appreciate about being sick, however.  You probably are thinking, "She's nuts!  What is good about being sick?!"  Well, I can think of several things...but here are five (hey, it's good to look on the sunny side of things!):

1.)  It makes you appreciate your home and the comforts of your bed!
2.)  There's a special bond that forms when you are taking care of someone you love (and my older kids have even helped this time!)
3.)  You become very thankful of what it's like to feel GOOD
4.) You get to catch up on old re-runs on TVLand
5.)  You set your priorities at a slower and more direct pace...and really... I wish at times things were this laid back!

Of course, I could have added that the flu can jump start your New Year's diet - but that would be totally ridiculous!

Anyhow - keep praying for us and hopefully all eight of us will be well soon.  Shad and Levi need a touch today.

Thanks for stopping by!
