My little boys have been studying the 23rd Psalm in school. Levi worked on this last year, so it's pretty much a refresher for him, but for Zeke - it's the first time. Since it is so long, we've taken several weeks to learn it in sections: For example, the first week of study we learned, "The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want." Fast forward to yesterday. Zeke has been stuck on the last part of the section, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow...." specifically, he has trouble with , "For You are with me, Your rod and Your staff they comfort me." Levi zoomed ahead and tried to finish the next section. I had to laugh out loud when he declared:
"You repair a table before me in the presence of my enemies."
But Jesus WAS a carpenter, so I guess it does make some sense!
