Expectant Prayers ®

We got together with some friends last night to start the six week study that compliments the Fireproof movie.  The evening started with dinner (provided by the host family) and then the study came after.  There was a lot of laughing and excessive talking (and possibly too much information)!  The night ended around 10pm and I really think we are already looking forward to our next study! 

We all need friends who can encourage us in the faith. There are all kinds of "friends", but in my opinion the best ones are those who spur you on toward a greater walk with Christ, are there to pray for you,  lift you up when you are low, and celebrate with you when you succeed!  

The Word says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up.  But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!"
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Lord,
Thank You for the friends that You have placed in our lives.  They bless us and hopefully we bless them in return!  I ask that You would surround us with people that have a heart after You and challenge us to live the best lives we can for You.  May we always have someone in our lives that we can depend on and trust with our feelings through the ministry of friendship.  Help us to operate as the body of Christ, even when we are having small gatherings.   Give us wisdom to recognize when our friends are low so that we can help pick them up.  Knit us together because we are in the family of God.  Amen.
