A Foggy Friday Before Christmas

It started out foggy this morning here in Kansas City; perfect to match my brain this morning.  Do you ever have days like that where you feel as if your brain hasn't quite kicked the power on?  Well,  I guess vacation will do that to you when you're off the routine, sleeping in, and "living in the land of do as you please" as Grandma would say.  This morning was perfect for a hot cup of cocoa, a few Russian Tea cakes, snuggling under the fleece throw, and watching the weather channel to see if we are going to have a white Christmas.    It's hard to tell if we are (going to have a white Christmas) or not although snow is in the forecast for tomorrow.  Who knows!  It could be all melted away by Tuesday next week.  My hope is that it will at least be cool enough for us to have a fire in the fireplace.   That's a Christmas Day must!

Yesterday, we made all kinds of Christmas treats and sent out some holiday greetings. The boys played football in the back yard for several hours because it was nearly sixty degrees yesterday!  In the evening, we had a get together with Pete's Mom's side of the family- which is always fun.  There are several cousins our age, which we enjoy visiting with a lot.  Most of them have kids the age of our younger children...so there is a lot of play time.  We always come away saying, "We need to do this more often."  According to cousin Elisabeth, 2008 will be the year that we make more of an effort to do things with the family.  That would be nice!

Well, there's not a whole lot going on here today.  Some laundry, finishing Christmas cookie cut-outs, probably MORE football, and possibly another attempt to go and see the Holiday Express with friends.

Whatever you're doing today, make sure to enjoy every moment of this holiday season.

Blessings, friends!
