A Different Pot

"I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him." (Jeremiah 18:1)

Did you start out thinking you were going to be one kind of pot and God turned you into another?  Life is about change and we have to allow God to adapt us into what He knows is best for our lives.    Too many people define themselves by what kind of shape they are in instead of finding their identity in the hands of the potter.  If something goes wrong in life, with their job, or alters their circumstances... they lose sight of direction, wisdom, and rational thinking because the perimeters they have created for themselves no longer exist.

Isaiah 29:16 says, "You turn things upside down,  as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!
Shall what is formed say to him who formed it,  "He did not make me"? Can the pot say of the potter, "He knows nothing"?

Don't put God in a box and definitely do NOT put yourself in one either.  God is Lord of the impossible.  He was able to take the dust of the ground and breath life into it.  He can take what you view as shatter pieces and create a living breathing vessel for Him.

The fact is, God knows what kind of vessel He ultimately had in mind for you to become.  You may think He's finished, but the truth is that He has only begun a good work in you - but He is faithful and just to complete it.  Trust in Him that the One who forms you knows what He's doing.  Allow Him to stretch and mold you today.
