What is this book? This is a daily prayer guide, devotional and journal through pregnancy. It is formatted with a verse, topic, devotional, prayer, and journal tip for each day of pregnancy. You can start the book at any time! The weeks are referenced at the top of each page for easy access. It covers a variety of topics that span from planning pregnancy clear through delivery. This is NOT a book about me, though you will definitely hear my heart through the pages. It is a book about the reader! You add your thoughts, prayers, etc. to the pages to make it truly unique. Readers love the oversize, which assists you in the flow of writing a journal. It's a memory book and keepsake for years to come.
Why was this book written? This book is a fruit of God's work through my life as a mother. I began journaling for my own children over 12 years ago. It is an extension of the thoughts, prayers, blessings, and verses that I have kept for my children. My journals for the kids started when they were still in utero and have continued throughout their lives. I even had journals for the babies that I lost due to miscarriage. Through the writing of my journals I have personally experienced the power of prayer and importance of including God in every aspect of our lives, including pregnancy. I have seen the results of prayer and marveled at His design and plan for each of us.
My own mother prayed 13 years to conceive- not unlike the story of Hannah from the Bible. She had contracted Rheumatic Fever as a child, which affected many of her organs, including her reproductive system. Her ovaries were underdeveloped and covered with a thick membrane. Doctors had given up hope for her fertility after utilizing every method and procedure they could at the time. Even after the devastating news, she trusted God. They discussed adoption, but decided that wasn't what God was wanting for them. By faith, she was rewarded on LABOR DAY 1970 with the arrival of my sister, Sharon. I came along on MOTHER'S DAY in 1972! What a testimony to the Glory and faithfulness of our Lord.
Finally, this book was written as a way to minister to other women. As I progressed through motherhood, I found that I was a mom-magnet (I have always been a kid-magnet!). I mentored many first time mothers through pregnancy and felt compelled by the Lord to reach out in the same manner to MANY women. My mother-in-law served at a local Crisis Pregnancy Care Center for 16 years and this is also for those young women who find themselves in a less than ideal situation. God STILL cares for those women and their unborn babies. He has a plan.
Who is this book for? Anyone expecting a baby. Mothers (married or single), adoptive mothers, birth mothers, aunts, sisters, grandmas, even friends could adapt and use this book for someone they love! Use it as a keepsake for your baby and share it with him/her in a few years!
